Roti Bank in Punjab

About Punjab

The state of Punjab is the home and the heart of the Sikh community. The word ‘Punjab’ translates to the land of five glasses of water, as the state is also home to the five famous rivers: Beas, Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and Jhelum. Punjab has an abundance of fertile land, and consequently, the main occupation of the people living here is agriculture and farming. It has some world-famous religious sites, including the very popular Golden Temple.

Punjab is also famous for its Bhangra, Punjabi jutti, suits, and Punjabi cuisine. Some of these include Chole Bhature, tandoori chicken, kebabs, Punjabi curry, murgh makhani, lassi, and many more. Chandigarh is the state’s capital, and the state indeed is like a slice of heaven on Earth.

Our Concern

In a large and vibrant state like Punjab, with enormous fields, a culturally rich atmosphere, a beautiful connection of the gilded threads of prosperity and ideals of love, hospitality, and abundance, some people can’t even afford a meal for their families. Their endless circle of agony and hunger needs to be broken, and we, the people of Indore, known for our hospitality, liveliness, and selfless nature, need to give food to the less privileged.

Our aim

We aim to make sure all the people living in Punjab go to sleep with a full stomach. We urge you to eradicate hunger from this city and do the least by providing everyone with a meal, to have the energy to get through the day. We want to build a community of our fellow citizens to help those in need.

How does Roti Bank help?

During festivities in Punjab, like Baisakhi, Lohri, and other joyous celebrations, often there is a surplus of food, which goes to waste. Roti Bank collects this leftover food and gives it to the poor and the needy. As a community, our selfless and diligent members act as a bridge between people who have surplus food and people who have a scarcity of food.

Even in marriages, especially big fat Punjabi weddings, parties, birthdays, or family gatherings, no food is less.

Every bite makes a difference.

How can you donate?

There are two ways in which you can bring a change and donate food to the poor.

  1. You can contact us to collect leftover food from your doorstep. This food will be given to the hungry children and people in the city.
  2. You can also donate a sum of money, from which food will be purchased for the poor, without a single penny going into our own pockets.

We aspire to make progress, not profits.

Our plead

Contact us today to donate, bring a change to the world and the great state of Punjab, and gather the blessings of the poor. Let’s all unite forces to help those in need and feed the poor a heartfelt happy meal. Let’s build a strong community full of love for each other.

Let’s donate food to make everyone’s life happy and fab; let nobody sleep hungry in the land of Punjab!
