Roti Bank in Agra

About Agra

Agra is one the most popular and beautiful cities among those in India. Located in Uttar Pradesh, it’s situated near the banks of the Yamuna River. It serves as the location for one of the seven wonders of the world, The Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is considered one of the best examples of Mughal architecture and is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Agra is a center for learning, architecture, religion, culture, arts, and commerce.

Agra is also a source of great food and entertainment. Some of the most popular dishes include parantha, petha, jalebi, Bhalla, Mughlai cuisine, tandoori chicken, and many more.

What’s the main issue?

Even in a glorious city like Agra, some underprivileged and unfortunate people don’t even get to drink sufficient water to get through their day. Their endless circle of agony and hunger needs to be broken, and we, the people of Agra, known for our rich culture, an abundance of love, and royal heritage, need to give food to the less privileged.

How does Roti Bank help?

We as a community, of our selfless and diligent members, act as a bridge between people who have surplus food, and people who have a scarcity of food. During festivities in Agra, along with joyous celebrations, often there is a surplus of food, which goes to waste. Roti Bank collects this leftover food and gives it to the poor and the needy.

Even in marriages, parties, birthdays, or family gatherings, no amount of food is less,

Every bite makes a difference.

Our aim

We aim to make sure all the people living in Agra go to sleep with a full stomach. We urge you to eradicate hunger from this city and do the least by providing everyone with a meal, to have the energy to get through the day. We want to build a community of our fellow citizens, to help those in need.

How can you donate?

There are two ways in which you can bring a change and donate food to the poor.

  1. You can contact us to collect leftover food from your doorstep. This food will be given to the hungry children and people in the city.
  2. You can also donate a sum of money, from which food will be purchased for the poor, without a single penny going into our own pockets.

We aspire to make progress, not profits.

Our plead

We urge all the residents and visitors in Amritsar, to do their bit in giving a bite to the hungry. Don’t let your food go to waste, make the best of it by feeding a hungry person.
